BOLTON superstar Amir Khan has shelved plans to take on Manny Pacquiao in his next fight, according to reports in Abu Dhabi.

The 28-year-old had hoped to take on his former Freddie Roach stable-mate next year when Pacquiao returns from shoulder surgery that followed his defeat to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan has long targeted a bout with Mayweather but switched his attentions to the Filipino after Mayweather announced his retirement.

Now, though, it appears Pacquiao wants a re-match against Mayweather and Khan is left looking for another new opponent.

He told The National: «I’m really disappointed in Manny and his team.

“They aren’t playing ball. All that was left to do was to sign the contract. But they are stalling.

“I have pulled out of the negotiations. I am no longer fighting Manny Pacquiao.”

Khan’s team met with Pacquiao’s in Doha last week but no deal was finalised and now the Bolton fighter may look for his own rematch against Danny Garcia – who was the last man to beat him three years ago – or Tim Bradley.

“I am not going to wait around for Manny like I did for Mayweather,” he added.

“I need to fight and if they don’t want to fight then that’s fine, I have other targets.”
