Manchester United defenders Chris Smalling and Phil Jones trained with Jose Mourinho’s first team squad this morning ahead of Thursday’s clash against Celta Vigo.
The pair have been out of action since the international break and Mourinho called on the duo to be ‘brave’ after an injury to Marcos Rojo against Anderlecht in the last round.
Eric Bailly’s injury against Swansea on Sunday intensified the pressure on Smalling and Jones to return ahead of schedule and they did so today.
Bailly, 22, was also able to participate in the session in what is a huge boost for the Red Devils.
United fly out to Spain this afternoon where Mourinho will hold a press conference ahead of the side’s first leg against the La Liga club.
Paul Pogba, who has been missing since a 2-0 win against Burnley last month, also returned.
