Eden Hazard says Chelsea have felt confident of winning this season’s Premier League ever since their incredible 13-game winning run earlier in the campaign.

The Belgium international has been one of the players of the season once again for Chelsea, who recovered from a hugely disappointing 10th place finish last year to reclaim the trophy they won in 2014/15.

Despite a rocky start under Antonio Conte, Chelsea won 13 in a row after back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal in September.

Although there was still a long way to go after that sequence of victories, Hazard feels that winning streak persuaded the players they were back to their best and capable of being champions once more.

‘We are very happy,’ he said after tonight’s 1-0 win at West Brom.

‘We talked a lot about the manager already, he is fantastic and we work a lot in training. Full credit to him and the players. We lost to Arsenal and then we went on an unbelievable run.

‘That’s when we said that we can win the league.’
