Former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho has confirmed his agent is in surprise talks over a summer transfer to La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Brazil international is currently on the books of Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, having struggled to impress during his two years in the Premier League.
Paulinho joined Spurs in the summer of 2013 after spending the bulk of his career in his native Brazil, and failed to make the step up in a major European league.
Still, Barca seem keen to land the 28-year-old this summer, with the club making him an offer and forcing the player to consider his options ahead of next season.
‘There has been contract with my agent,’ Paulinho confirmed in an interview with Globoesporte.

‘There was an offer and I know that we’re talking.
‘I am currently at a very happy stage of my life and my career. It is difficult to decide (what to do) at a moment like this.
‘I am very happy that a great club like Barcelona is interested in me, as that is priceless.’
