Juventus are reportedly set to make a £22million transfer bid to test Liverpool‘s resolve over midfielder Emre Can as he heads into the final year of his contract.
The Germany international has attracted some interest from the Serie A giants, though recent reports suggested Liverpool were confident of tying him down to a new deal.
Can would be free to leave Anfield on a Bosman at the end of next season, and Juve now reportedly hope they can tempt the Reds into selling him on the cheap.
According to Tuttosport, a £22m bid could be on the works by the Italian champions, who have been linked with a number of big names in that defensive midfield role this summer.
Juventus are also believed to be among the contenders for Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, who has emerged as one of Manchester United’s top targets for this transfer window.
Still, if they move for Can instead, that could free up United to swoop for the Serbian, who is thought to favour a move to Old Trafford.
