Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly left Serge Aurier out of their squad for their pre-season tour of the US just days after rumours of a transfer approach from Manchester United.
The Ivory Coast right-back has been strongly linked with the Red Devils on a number of occasions this summer, with United known to be in the market for new defensive signings.
United have already brought in Victor Lindelof from Benfica, but missed out on his former team-mate Nelson Semedo, who instead ended up joining Barcelona.
It has been reported that United have made an approach for Aurier, who would make a fine alternative in that position, and that the player himself is keen to leave the French capital.
With the 24-year-old now out of Unai Emery’s squad for pre-season, that seems a fairly clear pointer that he won’t be staying at the Parc des Princes providing a good enough offer comes in.
According to the Daily Mail, Hatem Ben Arfa and Grzegorz Krychowiak are also out of the squad having also been linked with departures from the club this summer.
Aurier has previously shone as one of the top full-backs in Europe, but has struggled with disciplinary problems in recent times and now no longer looks guaranteed to be first choice.
PSG only recently confirmed the signing of Brazilian right-back Dani Alves, who looks set to replace Aurier as Emery’s starting defender on that side of the pitch for the season ahead.

United have made a decent start to the summer by bringing in Romelu Lukaku and Lindelof, but Jose Mourinho has made it clear he wants two more players if possible.
‘We don’t have our door closed,’ he said yesterday. ‘We are not happy with just Lukaku and Lindelof, we need more, we wanted four, so I would say 50 per cent of the job done.’
Nemanja Matic is also expected to be one of Mourinho’s next targets, and he too is not set to travel for pre-season with Chelsea’s squad.
