Darmian, a former Serie A star with Torino, has emerged as a top target for the club after a frustrating season at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old only started 15 Premier League games under Mourinho, but excelled towards the end of the campaign to help United win the Europa League last month.

Mourinho is said to have been impressed by the Italy international’s revival, hoping to retain his services ahead of the 2017-18 season.
