The Italian giants are said to have decided to allow Alves to leave on a free transfer after just one season at the club, and work is already starting on replacing him in Turin.

Darmian has seemingly been identified as a realistic target after his struggles for regular playing time at Old Trafford since joining in the summer of 2015.

The 27-year-old hasn’t always looked ideally suited to the faster pace of the English game despite previously shining in Serie A with his old club Torino.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve may now try to bring him back to Italy as they look for a new signing to fill the void left by Alves at right-back.

AC Milan’s Mattia de Sciglio is also one of the targets on their list this summer, but United may be more willing to let Darmian go as they likely prepare to make changes to their own defence.
