Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy has agreed to join Manchester City after rejecting offers from Liverpool and Chelsea, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe claims that the France international has informed Monaco’s hierarchy of his decision and has also told manager Leonardo Jardim and Radamel Falcao.
Mendy had spoken to Jurgen Klopp about joining Liverpool this summer, while Antonio Conte spearheaded Chelsea’s late effort to sign the 22-year-old last weekend.
But after holding talks with Pep Guardiola, Mendy is understood to be convinced that City is his best destination in order for him to develop.
Guardiola is also said to have promised Mendy that he will be playing a key role in City’s push to win titles both domestically and in Europe.

Arsenal will only sell Alexis Sanchez on two conditions
L’Equipe claim that City’s biggest obstacle is now agreeing a fee with Monaco.
Mendy is valued at around €45 (£39.4m) but the Ligue 1 champions will only consider selling if they receive an ‘exceptional offer’.
City remain in talks with Monaco and have already agreed one deal with them this summer having signed Bernardo Silva for £43m.
