Naby Keita has hit heart set on a move to Liverpool and has already picked out his shirt number, according to former Red Titi Camara.

The player to finally replace Gerrard? What Liverpool can expect from Naby Keita

The RB Leipzig midfielder has been heavily linked with a transfer to Liverpool in recent weeks with the Reds reportedly preparing a mammoth £70million bid for Keita.

Liverpool set a new club-record last month when they signed Mohamed Salah from Roma for around £37m, but a deal for Keita would eclipse that fee by some distance.

Camara is a former Guinean international and was head coach of Keita’s national team until 2004.

And the supposed insider revealed on Twitter that Keita was desperate to move to Liverpool this summer.

Camara insisted that Keita had already picked out his shirt number with the 22-year-old keen to take on the No.8 jersey.

Kop icon Steven Gerrard was the last man to wear No.8 at Liverpool and the number has remained vacant since the Englishman departed in 2015.

Keita would be taking on some serious responsibility taking on the No.8 jersey with Gerrard earning legendary status at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has made Keita his No.1 target this summer and has told Liverpool to go out and buy the midfielder at any cost.
