Speaking about Tottenham’s chances against the league leaders, the former Newcastle striker said he believed Spurs could beat them without resorting to defensive and nullifying tactics such as those used by Mourinho.
‘I thought Manchester United did an excellent job of marking Chelsea’s big hitters out of the game last weekend,’ Shearer wrote in his column for Coral.
‘Tottenham beat them earlier in the season at White Hart Lane by out-playing them, United, on the other hand, did it by nullifying their best opponents. Tottenham will feel they have individuals who can out-perform Chelsea at Wembley.
