Everybody has those embarrassing moments in life but they’re not normally in front of a packed sports stadium and live television audience.
Photographer Ashley Ward was at an American football game between the Auburn Tigers and Louisiana State at the Jordan-Hare stadium in Alabama when she attempted to catch the opening kick of the game.
However the ball missed her outstretched hands and she took the ball to her chin, ending up sprawling on the ground as a groan went up from the crowd.
The good news is she got up laughing about what happened, and went on to appear on ESPNU to talk about it:
Awkward: Per Mertesacker accidentally donates to Mesut Ozil 'missing person' fund
Watch: Baseball prospect catches hurtling bat in most chilled out way possible
Use your time effectively! Watch footballer train in the snow on gridlocked motorway

‘I didn’t feel it at all,’ she said.
‘I really think that the embarrassment was probably setting in and I don’t remember feeling anything.
‘My face didn’t have a mark or a bruise on it.’
What do you do after going viral by taking a football to the face? You go on Power Hour to break it down. Duh. pic.twitter.com/lJvj32YQyj
